Cultural and Creative Art Teacher

Role Summary
- The CCA Subject Teacher is responsible for delivering a balanced curriculum that covers Visual Arts (drawing, painting, craft-making), Performing Arts (music, drama, dance), and Cultural Heritage.
- This role requires strong classroom management, formal academic planning, hands-on studio/classroom instruction, and active involvement in school events and talent exhibitions.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery & Academic Instruction:
- Structured Teaching: Prepare and deliver engaging weekly lessons covering both theory and practical aspects of Visual Arts, Performing Arts (Music & Drama), and Cultural Studies.
- Lesson Planning: Develop comprehensive schemes of work, weekly lesson plans, and instructional materials aligned with DTA’s academic calendar and standard primary curriculum guidelines.
- Talent Discovery: Identify pupils’ artistic, musical, or dramatic talents early, providing tailored encouragement and opportunities to develop those skills.
Assessment, Grading & Academic SOP Compliance:
- Continuous Assessment: Design, administer, and grade weekly practical projects, classwork, quizzes, and homework.
- Examinations & Reporting: Set termly theoretical and practical assessments, grade student artwork/performance fairly against clear rubrics, and upload marks into the school management software strictly by DTA deadlines.
- Progress Tracking: Maintain records of each pupil’s growth in creative confidence, fine motor control, and cultural understanding.
Studio & Materials Management:
- Resource Care: Manage art supplies, musical instruments, and drama props responsibly—ensuring efficient use, inventory tracking, and safe storage.
- Classroom Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment during hands-on projects (e.g., safe use of scissors, paints, and clay).
School Events, Exhibitions & Administrative Duties:
- EducationExhibitions & Productions: Organize student art displays, stage plays, and cultural performances for school events such as Cultural Day, End-of-Year Graduation, and Open Days.
- Parent Communication: Participate actively in Parent-Teacher Conferences, sharing constructive feedback on pupils' artistic progress and academic performance.
- Professional Standards: Attend weekly staff meetings, professional development training, and collaborate with peer teachers on cross-curricular projects.
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 4 - 7 years experience.
