Job Summary / Overview
- We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal/Admin Officer with 3+ years prosecutorial experience to provide legal, documentation, compliance, and administrative support, including contract review, legal drafting, research, risk identification, and ensuring accurate, compliant company records.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Responsibilities:
- Review, proofread, analyze, and cross-check company contracts, agreements, letters, policies, reports, and other legal or business documents.
- Identify errors, inconsistencies, omissions, unfavorable clauses, legal risks, and potential areas of exposure in company documents.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, agreements, letters, notices, memoranda, undertakings, affidavits, and other legal correspondence as required.
- Conduct legal research and provide relevant findings to management on legal and regulatory matters affecting the company.
- Assist in reviewing and preparing contracts, service agreements, partnership agreements, employment-related documents, and other commercial documents
- Ensure that company documents are properly structured, accurate, complete, and legally appropriate before execution.
- Maintain proper records of legal documents, contracts, agreements, litigation matters, and other important company documentation.
- Assist with legal correspondence and communication with clients, vendors, partners, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and external counsel.
- Support the company in monitoring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and internal policies.
- Assist in identifying and escalating potential legal risks to management.
- Support the preparation of documents required for legal proceedings, regulatory submissions, disputes, and other legal matters.
- Liaise with external solicitors, counsel, government agencies, courts, and other relevant legal stakeholders when required.
- Assist with litigation and dispute-related documentation and follow-up where necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of all legal, corporate, employee, client, and commercially sensitive information.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and legal support to management and relevant departments.
- Prepare official letters, internal memoranda, reports, notices, meeting documents, and other corporate correspondence.
- Maintain an organized filing system for legal, corporate, administrative, and contractual documents.
- Ensure important company documents are properly filed, tracked, updated, and easily retrievable.
- Maintain records of company agreements, renewals, expiration dates, statutory obligations, and other important deadlines.
- Support the preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, reports, and follow-up actions where required.
- Coordinate documentation and administrative processes across departments.
- Assist with corporate registrations, renewals, statutory filings, permits, and other administrative requirements.
- Monitor deadlines relating to contracts, licenses, legal matters, regulatory requirements, and other important company obligations.
- Assist management with general administrative and organizational responsibilities.
- Ensure that confidential company documents are handled securely and appropriately.

Requirements & Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
- Call to Bar / BL qualification is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-call legal experience, with significant experience as a Prosecutor.
- Proven experience handling prosecution, legal research, legal documentation, case preparation, and legal correspondence.
- Strong experience reviewing, proofreading, and cross-checking legal and business documents.
- Demonstrated ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, omissions, contractual risks, and potential legal issues in documents.
- Strong ability to draft clear, accurate, and professional legal and corporate documents.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian laws, legal procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with contracts, agreements, corporate documents, and official correspondence.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and document-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
