Job Summary
- The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's fleet of vehicles to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
- This role involves managing vehicle maintenance, driver performance, fuel consumption, regulatory compliance, fleet budgeting, and asset utilization while minimizing downtime and operating costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the company's vehicle fleet.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize vehicle availability.
- Monitor vehicle performance, inspections, and repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Manage vehicle registration, licensing, insurance, and documentation.
- Track fuel consumption and implement strategies to improve fuel efficiency.
- Monitor GPS tracking systems and optimize vehicle routes and utilization.
- Supervise and evaluate drivers, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Investigate vehicle accidents and coordinate insurance claims when necessary.
- Prepare and manage fleet budgets, including maintenance, repairs, fuel, and vehicle replacement.
- Analyze fleet performance data and prepare regular management reports.
- Coordinate procurement, disposal, and replacement of fleet vehicles.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, maintenance providers, and suppliers to achieve cost savings.
- Respond promptly to operational issues affecting fleet availability.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification in fleet or transport management is an advantage.
- Valid driver's license.
Experience:
- 5 - 15 years of experience in fleet management, transportation, logistics, or a related field.
- Experience managing commercial vehicles and supervising drivers is preferred.

Working Conditions:
- Combination of office and field-based work.
- May require travel to operational sites, workshops, and vendor locations.
- Availability to respond to fleet emergencies outside normal working hours when necessary.
Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 / month.
