Job Summary
- A renowned luxury hotel located in Victoria Island Lagos is seeking an experienced and results-driven Internal Auditor to join their team.
- This role is ideal for a seasoned audit professional with extensive hospitality experience and a strong understanding of hotel operations, risk management, internal controls, and corporate governance.
- The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding the organization's assets, strengthening internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence across all business units
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute risk-based internal audit plans across all hotel operations.
- Conduct operational, financial, and compliance audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Evaluate processes across Food & Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping, Finance, Procurement, Stores, Engineering, Security, and other operational departments.
- Identify control gaps, operational inefficiencies, revenue leakages, and fraud risks, and recommend practical solutions.
- Review inventory management, revenue assurance, cash handling procedures, purchasing processes, and cost control measures.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Promote a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in Internal Audit, with substantial experience in the hospitality industry and a reputable organization.
- Demonstrable knowledge of hotel operations, particularly Food & Beverage, Front Office, and other key operational departments.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, risk assessment, corporate governance, and audit methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, communication, and report-writing skills.
- High level of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and audit/reporting tools.
- Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Salary
N450,000 - N500,000 / month.
