The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Education, Primary Education Studies or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three years' post-NYSC teaching experience with primary-aged pupils, preferably within a British or international curriculum setting.
- Excellent subject knowledge across the primary curriculum, particularly in English, Mathematics and Science.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to establish a purposeful, respectful and engaging learning environment.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and confidence using technology to support teaching, learning and administration.
- A sound understanding of assessment, pupil progress monitoring and effective feedback practices.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a commitment to promoting pupil welfare.
- A genuine passion for teaching, learning and pupil development.
TRCN certification will be considered an advantage.
Applicants must reside in Ibadan and be able to commute conveniently to Jericho.
The Role
The Primary Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and creating a positive learning environment that supports both academic achievement and personal development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the school's curriculum and standards.
- Assessing, monitoring and supporting pupil progress through effective feedback and appropriate intervention.
- Creating a well-organised and stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and independence.
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and communicating effectively with parents to support pupil success.
- Contributing positively to the wider life and culture of the school.
Salary
N130,000 - N150,000 per month depending on experience and suitability for the role.
