Description
- The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacist in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality pharmaceutical services. The role involves dispensing medications under supervision, managing inventory, processing prescriptions, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare, label, package, and dispense medications accurately.
- Assist pharmacists with prescription verification and medication preparation.
- Maintain accurate patient and prescription records.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock ordering, receiving, and storage.
- Conduct routine stock counts and monitor product expiry dates.
- Ensure proper storage of medications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients and clients.
- Escalate medication-related concerns or discrepancies to the supervising pharmacist.
- Support the implementation of pharmacy policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development activities.
Requirements
- Diploma or recognised qualification in Pharmacy Technician studies with 1–3 years of experience in a hospital, community, or retail pharmacy.
- Valid registration or licence with the relevant regulatory authority (PCN).
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical products and dispensing procedures.
- Good understanding of inventory management principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software is an advantage.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Salary
N120,000 - N130,000 / Month.
