Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Development Officer to manage, maintain and improve its digital products.
- The successful candidate will supervise the Development Officer and ensure that MRT’s products remain functional, secure, reliable and properly documented.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain MRT’s existing software products.
- Review application code, databases, integrations and system architecture.
- Develop new features and improve existing product functionalities.
- Identify and resolve bugs, application errors and performance issues.
- Manage product updates, version releases and technical deployments.
- Integrate applications with databases, APIs and third-party services.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce appropriate development standards.
- Monitor product security, performance and availability.
- Maintain proper version control and technical documentation.
- Supervise and review the work of the Development Officer.
- Support the Project Delivery team during product configuration and implementation.
- Resolve complex technical issues reported by clients and internal users.
- Recommend improvements to MRT’s products and development processes.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Minimum of four years’ relevant software-development experience.
- Strong application-development and maintenance experience.
- Good knowledge of databases, APIs and system integrations.
- Ability to understand, modify and improve an existing codebase.
- Strong debugging, testing and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using Git or another version-control system.
- Ability to supervise junior developers and review their work.
- Strong documentation, communication and time-management skills.
