Junior Accountant

Job Summary
- We are seeking a diligent Junior Accountant to support our client in the distribution/FMCG industry.
- The role involves managing daily financial transactions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting reporting processes.
- The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and trustworthy in handling company funds
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue customer invoices, record payments, and maintain receivables ledger.
- Process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and manage payables schedule.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances.
- Assist with payroll preparation and remit statutory deductions (PAYE, Pension, NSITF, NHF).
- Prepare weekly cash flow summaries and support monthly management accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial records and provide documentation during audits.
- Handle petty cash and office-related expense payments.
Requirements
- BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience (AR/AP/general ledger).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent; advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian statutory requirements (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Pension, NSITF, NHF).
- Experience in distribution, trading, or FMCG preferred.
- ICAN student membership or partial qualification is an advantage.
- High integrity and attention to detail.
