Procurement Manager
Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Job Objective
- The Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing and procurement strategies that ensure the timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven acquisition of fresh produce, food products, packaging materials, and operational supplies.
- The role requires building strong supplier relationships, negotiating favorable contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and maintaining uninterrupted supply to support the organization's commitment to delivering fresh, high-quality products to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives and operational requirements.
- Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for fresh produce, food products, packaging materials, and other operational needs.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and service level agreements to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, distributors, manufacturers, and other key suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance.
- Coordinate procurement activities with warehouse, quality control, finance, and operations teams to ensure uninterrupted stock availability.
- Forecast purchasing needs based on demand trends, inventory levels, and seasonal availability.
- Ensure all purchased products comply with food safety regulations, company quality standards, and applicable legal requirements.
- Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supplier risks to identify opportunities and mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Prepare purchase orders, procurement reports, supplier performance reports, and expenditure analyses.
- Manage procurement budgets and ensure cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and audit requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to improve operational efficiency and supplier management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within FMCG, agriculture, retail, food production, or fresh produce.
- Professional certification, such as CIPS, CIPSMN, or a related procurement qualification, is an added advantage.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical, budgeting, and cost management abilities.
- Good understanding of inventory management and supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement or ERP software.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound procurement decisions under pressure.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
