Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to provide specialist care in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of obstetric and gynaecological conditions.
- The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional maternal and reproductive healthcare services, mentoring junior clinicians, and contributing to the continuous improvement of clinical outcomes and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist obstetric and gynaecological consultations, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Manage antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care services.
- Perform elective and emergency obstetric and gynaecological surgeries.
- Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary patient management meetings.
- Supervise and mentor medical officers, resident doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Participate in continuous medical education, clinical audits, and research activities.
- Provide emergency on-call services as required.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and protocols.
Requirements
- Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCOG) and / or West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- Valid practicing licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 2 years post-fellowship experience as an added advantage.
- Strong clinical, surgical, and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
