Senior Accountant (Manufacturing)

Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations, inventory accounting, and reporting functions within our manufacturing business.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong manufacturing accounting experience, a solid understanding of inventory management, cost accounting, and financial controls, and the ability to provide accurate financial insights to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records and reports in accordance with accounting standards.
- Manage inventory accounting processes, including inventory valuation, stock reconciliation, and inventory control procedures.
- Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory to ensure accuracy and minimize variances.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits and support physical stock counts.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and variance analysis reports.
- Analyze production costs and provide insights into cost reduction and operational efficiency opportunities.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and inventory records.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory remittances, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and pension contributions.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
- Support external and internal audit processes by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, warehouse, and management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree / HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in inventory management, inventory accounting, and stock control.
- Sound knowledge of cost accounting, production costing, and manufacturing processes.
- Professional certification such as ICAN, ACA, or ACCA is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
