Account Receivable Officer

Job Summary
- The Accounts Receivable Officer will be responsible for managing the organization’s receivables process, ensuring timely invoicing, payment tracking, account reconciliation, and effective follow-up on outstanding payments.
- The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients while supporting the company’s financial health.
- The ideal candidate should be organized, proactive, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and promptly.
- Monitor customer accounts and track outstanding payments.
- Follow up with clients on overdue invoices and ensure timely collections.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are properly accounted for.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
- Maintain accurate financial records and customer account information.
- Prepare periodic receivables aging reports and collection updates.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer billing concerns.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in improving receivables and collection processes.
- Maintain professional communication and relationships with customers.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timeliness and accuracy of invoicing.
- Reduction in overdue receivables.
- Collection efficiency and recovery rates.
- Accuracy of reconciliations and financial records.
- Timely resolution of billing discrepancies.
- Quality and timeliness of reporting.
Requirements
Education & Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification or progress towards certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience in accounts receivable, finance, or accounting roles.
- Experience in healthcare, logistics, technology, or startup environments is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable principles and financial processes.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Salary
- N150,000 - N200,000 per month.
