Job Summary
- The Legal Officer will provide legal and regulatory support across the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and industry regulations.
- The role involves drafting and reviewing legal documents, supporting contract management, advising internal stakeholders on legal matters, and assisting with regulatory and corporate governance activities.
- The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, commercially aware, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal advice and support to internal teams on operational, commercial, employment, and regulatory matters.
- Ensure organizational compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Support the management of corporate governance and regulatory filings.
- Monitor changes in relevant legislation and advise management on potential impact.
- Assist in managing legal risks and ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
- Support dispute resolution, litigation management, and engagement with external counsel when required.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of legal agreements and company filings.
- Assist with policy development, review, and implementation.
- Conduct legal research and prepare reports, memos, and legal opinions.
- Support compliance initiatives and internal audits where necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business operations.

- Timely review and turnaround of contracts and legal documents.
- Compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Reduction and effective management of legal risks.
- Accuracy and completeness of legal documentation and filings.
- Responsiveness to internal legal support requests.
Requirements
Education & Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B).
- Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) and qualified to practice in Nigeria.
Experience:
- 2 - 4 years of relevant legal experience.
- Experience in corporate/commercial law, compliance, or regulatory affairs is an advantage.
- Experience in the healthcare, technology, logistics, or startup sector is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate and commercial law.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and legal documentation systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
