Junior Accountant

Location: Location Port Harcourt, Rivers State (with deployment to field locations including Bonny, Brass, Forcados, and onshore flowstations across the Niger Delta).
Role Summary
- Support the financial operations of the company including bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, payroll processing, and project cost tracking under the supervision of the Senior Accountant.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and books of account.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Process staff payroll, statutory deductions (PAYE, pension, NHF), and vendor payments.
- Track project costs, prepare project financial reports, and support budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws (FIRS), pension regulations (PenCom), & company financial policies.
- Manage petty cash, bank reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting.
- Support external audits and prepare audit schedules.
Minimum Requirements
- B.Sc/HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years post-NYSC experience in accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, IFRS, and pension regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. • Completion of NYSC (mandatory).
Added Advantage:
- ACA (ICAN) or ACCA qualification (in-view acceptable).
- Experience in oil and gas industry accounting.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
Remuneration
Competitive and commensurate with experience.
