A reputable oil & gas company is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Financial Controller to join its leadership team. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 8 yearsโ experience, with strong exposure to oil & gas finance, compliance, reporting, and internal controls.
This role requires a strategic thinker who can oversee the companyโs financial health, strengthen governance, and support senior management in critical business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
โข Oversee day-to-day financial operations, accounting systems, and internal controls.
โข Prepare accurate financial statements, management accounts, and periodic reports.
โข Lead budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
โข Ensure compliance with IFRS, FIRS, regulatory bodies, and industry-specific financial requirements.
โข Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and statutory reporting.
โข Implement financial risk-management processes and cost-optimization strategies.
โข Provide financial insights to support business planning and strategic initiatives.
โข Supervise and mentor the finance and accounts team.
โข Manage treasury operations, banking relationships, and financial documentation.
โข Prepare and review management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with commentary on variances vs budget and prior periods.
โข Drive and stabilize ERP implementation and usage across all finance processes.
Requirements
โข Minimum of 8 yearsโ progressive experience, with at least 5 years in Oil & Gas finance.
โข Bachelorโs Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
โข Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, CFA (strong advantage).
โข Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, audit processes, and oil & gas financial frameworks.
โข Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, reporting tools, and ERP software.
โข Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
