Data Scientist

Role Overview
- We are looking for a Data Scientist to design, build, and deploydata models and analytics solutionsthat power credit scoring, transaction analysis, and financial insights across our platform.
- You will work closely with engineering, product, and banking partners to turn complex data into actionable intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Analytics:
- Develop and deploycredit scoring modelsusing transactional and alternative data
- Buildpredictive modelsfor risk, fraud detection, and financial behavior
- Designfinancial resilience and inclusion scoring frameworks
Data Pipeline & Processing:
Work with engineers to build and optimizeETL pipelines for:
- Bank statement data
- Open banking APIs
- Alternative datasets (e.g., telco, geospatial, behavioral)
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and scalability.
Transaction Intelligence:
- Develop models for:
- Transaction classification
- Cash flow analysis
- Income estimation
- Generate insights for dashboards and credit decisioning
Advanced Analytics:
Apply machine learning techniques for:
- Predictive exclusion modelling
- Customer segmentation
- Anomaly detection
- Incorporateclimate and geospatial datainto risk models where relevant
Experimentation & Validation:
- Design and run experiments to improve model performance
Validate models using real-world data and business outcomes
- Monitor model drift and performance over time.
Collaboration:
- Work cross-functionally with:
- Product teams (feature design)
- Engineering (deployment & APIs)
- Business teams (insights & reporting)
- Support integrations with banks and regulators.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6+ years experience indata science or applied machine learning strong proficiency in:
- Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
- SQL.
Experience with:
- Financial data (bank transactions, lending, payments)
- Time-series analysis and classification models.
Familiarity with:
- ETL pipelines and data engineering concepts
- API-based data ingestion
- Solid understanding of:
- Statistics and machine learning techniques.
Must Have:
- Experience withopen banking or fintech platforms
- Knowledge ofcredit risk modelling.
Experience with tools like:
- Power BI / Tableau
- Spark / big data tools
- Understanding ofdata privacy frameworks (NDPR, GDPR).
