Job Summary
- We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support its legal operations.
- The successful candidate will assist in legal research, drafting of legal documents, case preparation, and general legal advisory services while ensuring compliance with Nigerian laws and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on Nigerian laws, regulations, and case precedents relevant to Oil & Gas practice and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, agreements, opinions, and briefs
- Assist in case preparation, filings, and court processes
- Support senior lawyers in litigation, negotiations, and client advisory matters
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and legal procedures
- Liaise with courts, regulatory bodies, and relevant stakeholders as required
- Maintain accurate legal records, files, and documentation
- Meet assigned deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and called to the Nigerian Bar
- Minimum of 1-2 years post-call experience
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian laws, legal procedures, and court processes
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
- Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
