Assistant Human Resources Manager
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Working Hours: Mon – Fri 8.30am – 6pm and Sat – 9am – 1.30pm
Job Summary
- The Assistant Human Resources Manager supports the HR department in executing daily human resource functions including recruitment coordination, employee relations, onboarding, HR administration, performance management support, and compliance activities.
- The role ensures smooth HR operations while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to company policies and labor regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Assist in end-to-end recruitment activities including job posting, CV screening, and interview scheduling.
- Coordinate candidate communication and maintain recruitment trackers.
- Facilitate employee onboarding and orientation programs.
- Prepare employment documentation including offer letters and contracts.
- Maintain updated employee records and HR databases.
HR Administration:
- Maintain personnel files (physical and electronic).
- Update HRIS systems with employee information.
- Prepare HR reports and documentation.
- Support confirmation, probation, and exit processes.
- Monitor staff documentation and compliance requirements.
Employee Relations:
- Act as first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries.
- Support grievance handling and employee engagement activities.
- Assist in organizing staff welfare programs and engagement initiatives.
- Promote positive workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
Performance Management Support:
- Assist with performance appraisal coordination.
- Track employee KPIs and performance review timelines.
- Support implementation of performance improvement plans where required.
Training & Development:
- Coordinate training schedules and logistics.
- Maintain training records and learning documentation.
- Support employee development initiatives.
Compliance & Policy Implementation:
- Ensure adherence to company HR policies and labor laws.
- Support audits and compliance documentation.
- Assist in updating HR policies and procedures.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Time-to-hire efficiency.
- Accuracy of HR documentation.
- Employee onboarding satisfaction rate.
- HR data accuracy and reporting timeliness.
- Employee engagement participation.
- Compliance adherence rate.
Key Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
Experience:
- 4–7 years’ experience in HR operations or generalist role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of HR processes and employment laws.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
