Role: Finance Business Partner – SystemSpecs
An indigenous company in Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking a detail oriented and experienced Finance Business Partner. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving financial strategies, ensuring robust financial management and providing insights that support our growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
*Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial data are accurately recorded and classified.
*Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, reclasses, and corrections.
*Support monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial data.
*Prepare financial reports, including balance sheet, income statement, trial balance, and variance analyses.
*Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements for group entities
*Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure appropriate resolution.
*Support internal and external audits by preparing the required documentation and responding to audit queries.
*Collaborate with functional teams (e.g., AP, AR, treasury, tax) to ensure proper coding and financial data integrity.
*Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS)
*Contribute to process improvements and automation of financial reporting and reconciliation activities
*Intercompany Chargeables: Ensure accurate computing of intercompany chargeables on relevant balances.
*Shared Cost: Facilitate computing of shared costs for support services
*Assigned balance sheet schedules
*Supervise assigned team members
*Any other related function to be assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
*ACA/ ACCA is mandatory.
*Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role.
*Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, and regulatory reporting frameworks.
*Proficiency with ERP systems, especially Sun systems and reporting tools (e.g. Excel).
*Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
*Experience working in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment is an advantage
