Civil Engineer
Location: Utako, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time.
Description
- The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and executing construction and infrastructure projects.
- The role requires ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Design:
- Develop detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for construction projects
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings.
Project Execution & Supervision:
- Oversee construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to timelines and project milestones.
Quality Control & Compliance:
- Ensure all work meets industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues
- Review materials and workmanship for quality assurance.
Cost Management:
- Assist in preparing project budgets and cost estimates
- Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective project execution
- Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors on cost control and valuations
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
- Enforce safety standards and ensure a safe working environment
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related fields
- 2 - 5 years relevant experience (adjust based on level)
- Professional certification (e.g., COREN) is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
- Good project management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
