Job Description

Male QC Officer

Location: Sango Ota, Ogun

Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

  • The QC Officer is responsible for ensuring that all raw materials, in-process products, and finished flexible (nylon) packaging products meet defined quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • The role ensures consistent product quality across extrusion, printing, cutting, and sealing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Raw Material Inspection:

  • Inspect incoming raw materials such as polyethylene (PE), masterbatch, additives, and inks.
  • Verify supplier specifications and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Reject or quarantine substandard materials.

In-Process Quality Control:

  • Monitor production processes including:
  • Blown film extrusion
  • Printing (flexographic/gravure)
  • Cutting and sealing
  • Conduct routine checks on:
  • Thickness (micron consistency)
  • Width and length accuracy
  • Seal strength
  • Print quality (registration, color matching, smudging)
  • Ensure adherence to production parameters and SOPs.

Finished Product Inspection:

  • Perform final inspection of nylon packaging products before dispatch.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications (size, strength, clarity, branding).
  • Approve or reject finished goods based on quality standards.

Testing & Measurement:

  • Use quality testing equipment such as:
  • Micrometer / Thickness gauge
  • Tensile strength tester
  • Dart impact tester
  • Weighing scales
  • Record and analyze test results accurately.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain proper quality control records and reports.
  • Document non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., SON standards).
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards.
  • Support ISO quality management systems (if applicable).

Defect Control & Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify defects such as:
  • Holes, uneven thickness, contamination
  • Poor sealing, weak film strength
  • Printing defects (blur, misalignment)
  • Work with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Suggest improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Salary

N200,000 per month.
