Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • As Project Manager, you are responsible for the full lifecycle management of engineering projects within the Projects and Engineering Department. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while meeting quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage project risks, and oversee engineering, procurement, and execution activities to achieve successful project outcomes. The role demands strong technical knowledge, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Allocate resources effectively and monitor project progress against plan.
  • Ensure engineering, installation, and commissioning activities are completed to specification.
  • Identify deviations and implement corrective actions to meet project objectives.

Team Leadership & Coordination:

  • Lead project teams including engineers, coordinators, and vendors to achieve objectives.
  • Mentor and guide team members to ensure technical and operational excellence.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, procurement, and operations teams.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, technical reviews, and progress evaluations.

Budget, Cost & Risk Management:

  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and resource utilization.
  • Approve procurement requests and validate cost estimates.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
  • Track project profitability and ensure financial performance aligns with targets.

Stakeholder & Client Management:

  • Serve as the primary interface for clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Lead project status meetings, presentations, and technical reviews.
  • Ensure timely communication of project progress, risks, and changes.
  • Manage change requests, variations, and contract compliance.

Compliance, Quality & Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, QHSE standards, and regulatory requirements (DPR/NOSDRA).
  • Conduct technical and quality inspections on project deliverables.
  • Support audits and ensure project documentation is complete and compliant.
  • Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

Experience, Knowledge, and Technical Skills Required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Project Management-related discipline.
  • 7–10 years’ experience managing engineering projects in oil & gas, industrial, or large-scale projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • PMP/CAPM certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • HSE Level II/III certification desirable.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating external contractors/vendors.

Key Knowledge and Behavioral Competencies Required

Technical:

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems.
  • Strong project management expertise (scheduling, budgeting, reporting).
  • Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, and project tracking tools.
  • Understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and propose practical solutions.

Behavioral:

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and accountability skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multi-disciplinary teams.

Salary

N600,000 - N800,000 per month.
