Business Development Executive
Location: Apapa, Lagos

Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospecting:
- Conduct 60–120 targeted outreach activities weekly, including calls, emails, LinkedIn engagement, and networking events.
- Identify and engage potential clients to build a strong and sustainable sales pipeline.
- Generate a consistent flow of qualified leads across target sectors.
Business Development & Sales Execution:
- Present service offerings and develop tailored proposals for potential clients.
- Lead negotiations and close mid-tier accounts across services including FCL/LCL shipping, air freight, warehousing, and haulage.
- Take full responsibility for the monthly TEU/tonnage sales targets.
Profitability & Deal Structuring:
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Customs teams to ensure deals are operationally feasible and financially viable.
- Maintain company profit expectations, ensuring deals meet minimum gross profit thresholds
Client Relationship Management:
- Manage client relationships from deal closure through onboarding and first shipment.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling logistics services
- Maintain consistent engagement with clients to ensure long-term relationships.
CRM & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all interactions in the CRM system within 24 hours
- Submit weekly pipeline and performance reports to the Head of Business Development
- Ensure pipeline forecasting accuracy and visibility for management decision-making.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Revenue & Client Success:
- Achieve monthly TEU/tonnage sales targets
- Maintain minimum 80% client retention on assigned accounts
- Maintain required gross profit margins on at least 95% of deals
- Achieve forecast accuracy within ±10% monthly.
Qualifications & Experience
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline
- 3 - 5 years of experience in Business Development or Sales
- Experience within logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or supply chain is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads and meet personal revenue or pipeline targets
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in CRM systems and pipeline management
- Ability to manage high-volume outreach and sales activity independently.
Salary
N300,000 - N350,000 monthly.
