Pharmacy Finance Manager

Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Finance Manager to oversee the full spectrum of accounting, audit, and inventory control operations. The ideal candidate must be a Chartered Accountant (ICAN or ACCA) with strong financial management experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring financial integrity, statutory compliance, operational efficiency, and the implementation of sound internal control systems across all business units. This role requires a results-oriented professional with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting Functions:

  • Manage and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and general ledger management.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely statutory remittances and compliance with tax regulations.l
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting systems for management decision-making.
  • Coordinate year-end closing and external audit processes.



Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Prepare and monitor budgets, cash flow projections, and financial forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Provide management with actionable financial insights to support strategic decisions.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Lead internal and external audit processes across all business locations.
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.

Inventory & Cost Control:

  • Supervise inventory audits and ensure accurate stock valuation and reporting.
  • Conduct regular stock verification and reconcile physical vs. system stock variances.
  • Implement efficient inventory management systems to minimize losses and optimize costs.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency across departments.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead and mentor junior accountants and audit staff across all business units.
  • Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and procurement teams to ensure financial discipline.

Requirements

  • Professional Qualification: Chartered Accountant (ICAN or ACCA) — Mandatory
  • Experience: 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, or finance leadership roles.
  • Industry Exposure: Must have prior experience in a pharmaceutical or healthcare organization.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho, or any ERP system).
  • Deep understanding of financial regulations, internal controls, and inventory management principles.

Salary

N500,000 - N650,000 / Month.
