Job Summary
- A Mathematics Teacher is responsible for teaching mathematical concepts, developing students’ problem-solving skills, and fostering logical thinking.
- The teacher ensures students understand and apply mathematics in real-life situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver mathematics lessons in line with the curriculum
- Teach topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics
- Prepare lesson notes, assignments, and tests
- Assess and evaluate students’ performance regularly
- Prepare students for internal and external examinations
- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment
- Provide extra support to struggling students
- Use teaching aids and technology to enhance learning
- Collaborate with other teachers and school staff
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of mathematics concepts
- Excellent communication and teaching skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Classroom management ability
- Patience and adaptability
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to explain complex ideas simply
- Basic ICT skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Education (Mathematics), or related field
- Teaching certification/license (if required) with work experience.
Salary
N90,000 - N200,000 / month.
