Finance Manager (Chartered Accountant)

Job Summary
- The Finance Manager will oversee the financial operations of the hospital, ensuring efficient financial management, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.
- The role requires a Chartered Accountant with strong corporate and healthcare finance experience, responsible for managing budgeting, revenue cycles (including NHIS, HMOs, and private billing), financial reporting, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management
- Develop and manage the hospital’s budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
- Oversee revenue cycle management, including NHIS, HMOs, retainerships, and private patient billing
- Monitor income streams and expenditure, ensuring optimal cost control and revenue optimization
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, tax laws, and financial standards
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial risk
- Supervise billing, collections, and reconciliation processes across departments
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and accountability
- Implement and enforce financial policies, controls, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Provide financial insights and advisory support for strategic decision-making and service expansion
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to improve financial efficiency and service delivery
- Oversee procurement financial processes, including vendor payments and cost evaluations
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA)– mandatory
- 7–10years’ experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment, with at least 3-5years in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of hospital billing systems, NHIS, HMO processes, and healthcare financial operations
- Proficiency in accounting software, hospital management systems, and Microsoft Excel
- Sound understanding of financial regulations and compliance in healthcare
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
