Finance Assistant

Job Purpose
- The Finance Assistant will support the finance unit in ensuring effective financial management of donor-funded projects.
- The role involves assisting with financial documentation, processing payments, maintaining financial records, supporting budget monitoring, and ensuring compliance with donor and organizational financial policies.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions and Documentation:
- Prepare payment vouchers and ensure all supporting documents are complete and properly approved.
- Process staff advances, vendor payments, and reimbursements in accordance with organizational policies.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions.
Cash and Bank Management:
- Assist in managing petty cash and ensure proper recording of all transactions.
- Support preparation of bank reconciliation statements.
- Track cash advances and ensure timely retirement of advances.
Budget Monitoring:
- Support the Finance Manager in monitoring project budgets and expenditures.
- Assist in tracking project spending against approved budgets.
- Flag potential budget variances or overspending.
- Demonstrates a genuine concern for the well-being of vulnerable individuals.
- Integrity: Maintains the highest ethical standards in all professional activities.
- Resilience: Capable of working under challenging conditions and managing stress effectively.
- Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying issues and implementing solutions.
