Payroll Support Specialist
Location: Jabi, Abuja

The Role
- As a Payroll Support Specialist, you will support the end-to-end payroll function for our clients, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, and that all records and processes meet compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits
- Review timesheets, attendance records, and approvals for completeness and accuracy
- Reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and file payroll-related statutory and tax reports
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and client contacts professionally and promptly
- Maintain confidential employee and payroll records in line with data protection standards
- Support audits and month-end and year-end close activities
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
Requirements
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge of accounting procedures and processes
- Proven experience in payroll processing or a closely related accounting function
- Professional certification is strongly encouraged: ICAN or any other recognised accounting or finance certification (e.g., ACCA, ANAN, CPA)
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll or accounting software
- Strong communication, organisation, and time-management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion
- Willingness to work onsite full-time in Jabi, Abuja
Nice to Have:
- Experience supporting North American processes (US/Canada payroll, tax, and compliance)
- Familiarity with working to client SLAs in an outsourcing environment.
