Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Accountant with proven experience working with a reputable betting/gaming company to join our growing team in Lagos.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting operations within the betting and gaming industry, including high-volume transactions, payment reconciliations, revenue reporting, settlements, cash flow management and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Reconcile bank accounts, payment gateways and gaming-related transactions.
- Monitor revenue, settlements, expenses and cash flow.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports.
- Maintain accurate ledgers, schedules and supporting documentation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Monitor financial controls and identify discrepancies.
- Support tax compliance, audits and financial reviews.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, Compliance and other relevant teams.
- Provide accurate financial information to support management decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Previous experience working with a reputable betting, gaming, sportsbook or online gaming company is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of betting/gaming financial transactions and reconciliation processes.
- Experience with payment gateways, bank reconciliation and settlement processes.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian tax and financial compliance requirements.
- ICAN/ACCA qualification or progress toward qualification is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, integrity and confidentiality.
