Job Summary
- As the Medical Secretary, you will provide front-line administrative and patient support, coordinating registration, appointments, billing, treatment schedules, and patient records to ensure smooth service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Receive, register, and attend to patients while maintaining accurate electronic and paper medical records and an organised reception area
- Coordinate consultations, CT simulations, treatment planning, radiotherapy sessions, follow-ups, patient files, and required clinical logistics
- Verify bills, monitor payments, issue receipts, update payment records, and promptly report billing discrepancies
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments, treatment schedules, investigations, consultations, payments, reminders, calls, emails, and WhatsApp enquiries while escalating complex concerns appropriately
- Track treatment attendance and progress, maintain required documentation and databases, prepare administrative and financial reports, support audits, supplies and maintenance requests, and maintain patient confidentiality and compliance
Requirements
- Diploma, Associate Degree, or Certificate in Medical Office Administration, Health Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Bachelor's Degree in a related healthcare field is an added advantage
- Previous experience as a Medical Secretary, Medical Receptionist, or in a similar healthcare administrative role
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is an advantage
- Strong communication, organisation, confidentiality, record-keeping, and patient service skills.
Salary
N120,000 - N150,000 monthly.
