: HR Officer

Location: Mabushi, Abuja (FCT) 

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary 

We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented HR Officer to support the effective management of our people, HR processes, and employee experience.

  • The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in recruitment coordination, onboarding, employee records, attendance and leave administration, performance tracking, employee relations, and day-to-day HR operations.
  • This position is suited to an HR professional who is organized, discreet, people-oriented, and confident enough to address workplace matters professionally.
  • The HR Officer will work closely with management and employees to ensure that HR policies are properly implemented, employee records remain accurate, and people-related matters are handled promptly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Administration:

  • Manage day-to-day HR administrative activities and provide timely support to employees and management.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, personnel files, contracts, and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation, probation confirmation, transfers, promotions, and exit processes.
  • Administer employee leave, attendance, punctuality, and other routine HR records.
  • Ensure HR documentation is complete, properly filed, and regularly updated.
  • Respond to employee requests and HR-related enquiries in a professional and timely manner.

 Recruitment & Onboarding: 

  • RecruitmentsoftwareCoordinate recruitment processes from vacancy documentation through interview scheduling and candidate communication.
  • Screen applications and support the preparation of candidate shortlists in line with approved requirements.
  • Coordinate interviews and maintain accurate recruitment records.
  • Conduct or support onboarding activities for newly hired employees.
  • Ensure new employees receive the required documentation, policies, and orientation.

Employee Relations & Workplace Support

  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for routine employee concerns and workplace matters.
  • Support the resolution of employee issues in a fair, professional, and confidential manner.
  • Escalate sensitive or complex employee relations matters to management where necessary.
  • Promote adherence to workplace policies, procedures, and standards of professional conduct.
  • Support employee engagement and workplace initiatives.

Performance & Attendance Management

  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, leave utilization, and other relevant employee records.
  • Support the implementation of performance management and appraisal processes.
  • Maintain performance documentation and follow up on outstanding evaluations.
  • Assist managers with performance-related documentation and employee improvement processes.
  • Identify recurring workforce issues and bring them to management's attention.

HR Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare periodic HR reports covering headcount, attendance, recruitment, turnover, leave, and other workforce metrics.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee databases and HR trackers.
  • Support the implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure HR activities are handled in accordance with applicable employment requirements and internal policies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and organizational information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Relations, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Human Resources, Personnel Administration, or a related HR function.
  • Practical experience in HR administration, recruitment, employee records, onboarding, or employee relations.
  • Good understanding of basic HR processes and workplace practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be resident in or willing to work in Abuja, FCT.
