Junior Accountant

Job Summary
The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company.
The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting bookkeeping, assisting with
reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and basic statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping:
Record daily financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and payments.
Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
Post entries into accounting systems and maintain accurate ledgers.
Assist in preparing monthly financial records and schedules.
Payments & Receivables:
Support processing of supplier payments and expense claims.
Assist in tracking customer invoices and following up on outstanding receivables.
Maintain proper records of petty cash and reimbursements.
Reconciliation & Controls:
Assist with bank reconciliations and cashbook balancing.
Support stock, expense, and supplier reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures
Compliance & Reporting:
Assist in preparing VAT, WHT, and other basic statutory schedules.
Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation.
Prepare routine accounting and financial reports as required.
Coordination & Support:
Work closely with the Finance, Procurement, Warehouse, and Operations teams.
Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance department.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Accuracy of financial records and postings.
Timeliness of transaction processing.
Bank and ledger reconciliation accuracy.
Proper documentation and filing compliance.
Support for audit and compliance requirements.
Reduction in posting and reconciliation errors.
Adherence to internal accounting procedures.
Responsiveness to finance-related requests.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
1–3 years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably within FMCG or manufacturing.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Familiarity with accounting software and MS Excel is an advantage.

Basic knowledge of VAT and WHT.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
