Hotel Internal Auditor
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all hotel income and expenses.
- Monitor daily sales, revenue, cash collections, POS transactions, and bank deposits.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Reconcile cash, bank accounts, POS, and other payment channels.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process payroll and ensure accurate salary calculations.
- Prepare and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
- Control hotel expenses and identify areas of unnecessary spending.
- Monitor stock, purchases, and inventory costs.
- Ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and accounting requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, banks, suppliers, and management when necessary.
- Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls.
- Detect and report financial irregularities, fraud, or discrepancies.
Qualifications Required
- B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is an added advantage.
- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Experience with hotel / POS systems is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.
