Job Description

  • The Junior HR Consultant – HR Advisory & Client Services will provide day-to-day HR advisory and outsourced HR support to assigned clients, combining HR expertise with client management, problem-solving and project coordination.
  • The role requires a proactive and organized HR professional who can work independently, take ownership of deliverables, anticipate client needs and provide timely, practical and high-quality HR solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Client Account Management & HR Advisory:

  • Manage assigned client accounts and serve as a key operational HR contact, maintaining regular communication and follow-up.
  • Understand clients' business and workforce needs and provide practical HR advice and solutions within the scope of engagement.
  • Proactively identify HR issues, risks and opportunities, track deliverables and ensure timely resolution of client requests.
  • Escalate complex, sensitive or high-risk matters appropriately.

Employee Relations & Workforce Management:

  • Provide day-to-day support on employee relations matters, including attendance, leave, conduct, grievances, complaints and employee concerns.
  • Support disciplinary, welfare and employee relations processes and maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Monitor recurring employee relations issues and recommend appropriate interventions, escalating sensitive matters where necessary.

 Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: 

  • RecruitmentsoftwareManage recruitment assignments from role briefing through to candidate selection, offer and onboarding transition.
  • Develop job descriptions and adverts, source and shortlist candidates, conduct interviews and prepare candidate assessments and recommendations.
  • Coordinate interview processes, candidate communication and offer follow-up while maintaining accurate recruitment trackers and documentation.

Employee Onboarding & Probation Management:

  • Coordinate pre-employment documentation, onboarding, induction and employee file management.
  • Ensure new employees receive relevant employment documentation, job descriptions, KPIs and policies.
  • Track probation milestones, coordinate reviews and support confirmation, extension or non-confirmation processes.

Performance Management:

  • Support the development and implementation of KRAs, KPIs and performance management processes aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Coordinate performance reporting, reviews, one-on-one discussions, appraisals and Performance Improvement Plans where required.
  • Identify performance gaps and support clients in implementing appropriate interventions and maintaining accurate records.

Learning, Development & Employee Engagement:

  • Support the planning and delivery of learning, development and employee engagement initiatives, including Knowledge Sharing Sessions and Lunch & Learns.
  • Coordinate employee development, wellbeing and engagement activities and maintain relevant records and calendars.
  • Facilitate learning and engagement sessions where required.

Employee Welfare, Benefits & Administration:

  • Coordinate employee welfare and benefits administration, including HMO, pension and employee support requests.
  • Support employee recognition and welfare initiatives and maintain accurate benefits and welfare records.
  • Identify welfare concerns and escalate matters requiring management intervention.

Employee Exit & Termination Support:

  • Coordinate employee exit processes, including documentation, clearance, handover, recovery of company property and exit interviews.
  • Ensure exit records and reports are complete and properly maintained.
  • Support clients with post-exit follow-up and resolution of outstanding matters.

HR Documentation, Policies & Advisory Deliverables:

  • Draft, review and proofread HR documents, including employee handbooks, policies, job descriptions, employment letters, HR communications, performance and employee relations documentation.
  • Prepare professional HR reports, presentations and other client deliverables using approved templates and standards.
  • Maintain accurate and organised client HR records and support policy implementation and periodic documentation reviews.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–4 years' previous experience in an HR consultancy, outsourced HR, HR shared services or client-facing HR environment.
  • Demonstrable experience across several HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee documentation.
  • Good working knowledge of Nigerian employment practices and HR processes.
  • Evidence of professional HR development or certification.
  • Experience preparing HR reports, policies, handbooks and professional client-facing documentation.

Salary

N200,000 - N300,000 monthly.
