About the Role
We are seeking a high-performing and experienced Treasury Officer with strong oil & gas industry experience to lead our treasury operations and strengthen our financial control systems. The ideal candidate must currently work or have previously worked as a Treasury Officer in an oil & gas organization.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the company’s daily cash flow, ensuring optimal liquidity to support operational and project activities.
Prepare cash flow forecasts, variance analyses, weekly/monthly treasury reports, and provide insights for management decisions.
Supervise and review bank reconciliations, transaction postings, and treasury operational reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Maintain and manage banking relationships including negotiations for loans, credit facilities, bank guarantees, and investment discussions.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of statutory remittances (tax, pension, NSITF, ITF, etc.).
Monitor and mitigate treasury-related risks, including FX exposure, liquidity risk, and interest rate changes.
Oversee the development and enforcement of treasury policies, internal controls, and financial procedures.
Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and effective follow-up on audit findings.
Manage loan schedules, debt portfolios, interest obligations, and relevant documentation.
Evaluate and recommend investment opportunities for idle funds to optimize returns.
Ensure treasury activities comply with regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the oil & gas industry this is mandatory.
Male applicants only (for organizational gender balance).
Strong understanding of cash management, FX transactions, investment instruments, statutory remittances, and corporate banking operations.
Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, CFA, or ACT are a strong added advantage.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, treasury tools, and financial reporting software.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and keen attention to detail.
