Job Description

Finance Manager

Location: Anambra

Job Summary 

  • Our client is seeking an experienced and highly finance manager toowns the financial records, reporting and treasury function of the bank.
  • Ensures accurate books of account, timely regulatory and management reporting, prudent liquidity management and cost control.

Job Responsibilities

  • Post/review daily GL entries and ensure the trial balance is clean at close of business.
  • Prepare daily liquidity and cash-flow position for the MD; monitor compliance with the 20% minimum liquidity ratio.
  • Reconcile bank/correspondent accounts, tellers' GLs and suspense accounts daily.
  • Process payments, manage vendor invoices and maintain the fixed asset register.
  • Run monthly payroll and remit PAYE, pension and other statutory deductions.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, budget variance reports and Board financial papers.
  • Compile and render CBN/NDIC periodic returns accurately and on time.
  • Support external audit, tax audits and CBN examinations.
  • Supervise the Accountant (from December) and review their postings.

Job Requirements 

  • Jobapplication trackingB.Sc in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline. MBA or MSC an advantage
  • ICAN (ACA) or ACCA chartered/part-qualified strongly preferred; CIBN MCP an advantage. For CBN-recognised Head of Finance status, professional accounting qualification is expected.
  • Minimum of 7 years' accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a bank or other financial institution (MFB experience preferred). Hands-on experience preparing CBN/NDIC returns and statutory financial statements.
  • IFRS financial reporting; preparation of monthly management accounts and budgets; CBN monthly/quarterly returns (via CBN approved portals); tax computation (CIT, WHT, PAYE, VAT); fixed asset & payroll management; bank reconciliation; strong Excel skills; core banking GL administration.
  • High integrity and confidentiality; attention to detail; analytical thinking; deadline discipline; ability to explain numbers clearly to management and the Board.
  • The Ability to speak Igbo will be an added advantage.
